How Many PGA National Golf Courses Are There

Everyone knows PGA National Homes are the envy of Palm Beach Gardens real estate because of their championship golf and club amenities. But, do you know just how many wonderful and diverse championship courses are found there for homeowners?

Check out how Echo Fine Properties describes the five custom designed courses backed by the name and experience of America’s greatest veteran pro golfers.

The golf courses are, as you would expect, the main attraction here. Four are located within the main grounds and one is found 5 miles west of the club. The Champion opened in 1981, and is home to the famous ‘Bear Trap’. This tough three-hole stretch was named for Jack Nicklaus, known as the Golden Bear, who designed the course. The Champion received a $4 million renovation in 2002, and became home to The Honda Classic on the PGA tour in 2007. The Fazio was originally the Haig Course, named after golfing legend Walter Hagen. This was actually the first course open at PGA, in 1980. It was renovated and re-opened as The Fazio in 2012. The Squire is known as ‘The thinking man’s course’, and is named after Gene Sarazen, who was the first golfer to win the professional Grand Slam. The course was designed by George and Tom Fazio, and is the shortest of all the courses at PGA. The Palmer was designed by Arnold Palmer, and was the last of the original courses built at PGA. This is known as the most forgiving course out of the five. Designed by Karl Litten, The Estates opened in 1984 as Stonewall Golf Club, and has belonged to PGA National since 1988.
